Title: The Horseman
Bronze, 44x35x24 cm, 2004.

The author couldn’t stand adding some irony to his work: the severe appearance of the warrior, its heavy and menacing body is ‘based’ on thin bare feet. The artist didn’t even put the «tabi», traditional samurai socks, on the warrior’s feet.

Be it an animal, the author would choose a brutal predator; be it a man, the author’s choice would be nothing less than a samurai. Human beings are too rare among the objects of this author’s art to prefer their classical variant. That is why we are transferred to the 18th century, south Japan, the origin of samurais.
