Olga Khan was born in Moscow. Her acquaintance with the sculpture started in the Krasnopresnenskaya Art School. Her teacher, Nikolay Selivanov, noticed Olga’s talent for plastic thinking and advised her to make a sculpture as a graduation work. «I made chess with a key idea of the execution, the artist says, I placed four cities around the chessboard, and in the cities were all the figures for the game. The queen, who was about to be put to death, and an executioner with an axe (I assigned this role to the king). The chess figures were made of plaster first, and then from gypsum. I had a plan to cast them of bronze, but I never made it».
